out of boredom

anticipation of unmade plans

hopes not yet discussed

i say silent,

no guns at the starting gate

not running, no, not me

at least i have an imaginary purpose

at least i am prepared

if nothing else, it passes time

and nothing else, i'm fairly certain

is all it will be
