and i turned and drove right back to him

clutching tightly
to security like blankets
the chocolate is frozen
and i'm singing softly
along
to the song on the screen

and i wished i didn't have to leave today

speeding
dehydrating
puffy-eyeing
impatient for days to pass
until i return
praying to never go away again
