my dry lips split
torn from burning paper
i exhale, and hear nothing again

i�m addicted to lip balm
when nothing else quenches
the tingling sensation �
i drink more water

i turn up the music to block out the silence
when i continue to hear nothing;
i�m scared to answer the phone, but it does not matter; i hear NOTHING,
and i�m sure that means my world is ending

NOTHING is important as words spoken,
a voice from the mouth speaking sentiments that those chapped lips once told
