i swayed in the cheap wine's spillage

3 glasses to erase

morning's soft, dull ache
distracts the memory
add water to breakfast
for the cure

add 4 to the year for today's date
before the blood dropped
and the elton john cd played;
before i hit my skull on the headboard
and screamed into the pillow

scars this rare deserve punishment
