to claim the prize

my scars aren't unique,

pathetic fragile star.

but i pretend and fantasize that rescue scene

...and fade to black.

nature has failed me again

and i'm rendered useless for rendezvous

the pills are denied by the calendar

and my insides spill out on cue

you always told me it wouldn't matter

but i'm afraid to test that theory
