now that i know
the configuration,
and location

i know how (un)important my words are:

both hidden and open,
all are ignored

they are not hard to detect, but
the flow of response is not meant for me

i am not the beloved -- the
eyes to glimpse memories
in the opposite direction

comfort in the new
and old (truth be told)

this is the phasing out
pushing the damaged goods
into the sweet, spicy abyss
unbeknownst

the attachment is not understood
but rings loud and clear,
slow and melodic
like a confused dream

we all build walls and live inside
it's just a question of where
