the absence, oddly, seems greater now

beautiful sleep
in the drunken lights
spinning, twinkling
while still

it's my eyes that cause the distortion,
the damage and rage, voiced
through desperate, malfunctioning poetry

deaf eyes and blind ears always misunderstood
the importance of the emoting

blacking out and tumbling
i'll spin myself some slumber
and try it all again tomorrow
