puerto rico poem

(there is no destruction tonight. no need for this.)

white domes and columns,

dreaming along with the

perfect acoustics,

and his face is all i see

never again will i witness

the sky shooting stars like this;

another dream, misinterpreted,

victim to bad timing

and worse translation

this is one small corner

that's too large for me

wandering for hours

never finding what i'm looking for,

so,

i retreat back into the walls

beyond the sprinklers and palm trees
