rearview mirrors serve no purpose in the dark
truckers blink their ability to pass eachother
and blink their thanks, as well

i am alone on route 80, no place for a girl
travelling late hours, counted by cd tracks on repeat
each rest area is a lesson in fear
why is nothing well-lit?!

i'm eating twinkies, eating french fries
without hunger, the only purpose is
to pass the time, stay awake, focus on any task
to combat the highway hypnosis
