if you broke this
and understood the meanings
of life force to my heart
and how i'd never leave
without a fight
though i spoke otherwise

drawn to violence
-- inflicted elsewhere?
or on my own flesh

i can dare myself
to become adequate
but

false push to polite
decadence

will the reward ever be mine?
